When learning to fly at Land's End you benefit from uncluttered, quiet airspace over the spectacular scenery of the Cornish coastline. The airport is home to The Isles of Scilly Skybus airline and Trinity Lighthouse helicopters and regularly hosts visits from other private and commercial traffic. During busy periods students get a taste of flying amongst commercial traffic and yet there is never more than a short wait for clearance to get airborne. A tower service from Air Traffic Control exposes you to correct radio terminology procedures from the outset and grass field operation techniques become the norm.
During the course of your flying training, navigation exercises will take you further afield, presenting opportunities to fly circuits from hard surface runways and land at larger airports such as Newquay and Plymouth.
